And Ham,[p] What do you consider large? 40-50-60..[p]I have a large family and the large works just fine. I have XL's because I cater,..
-
Celtic Wolf,[p]Thank's. On a weekend, I could have 50 people easy. And I have a pool, so this is every weekend!!!!
-
And Ham,
If you get the XL, the inlaws may think they're welcome anytime. If they're anything like my inlaws, I'd suggest a mini.

And Ham,
My wife got me a X-Large BGE on fathers day 07, I love it remember you can always down size..

And Ham,[p]2 XL's and a large

And Ham,[p]
Buy the XL and then tell me where you and your pool live! I love my XL but later added a small for those times when the in-laws actually go home![p]Jim

California Sooner,[p]Thank you for the suggestion. I live in NJ. Are you in Ca? I did spend some time in So Cal from 1997 - 2001. I think I should visit you!

And Ham,
I have the XL, and it is great having the space to muck around. I think there are more contraptions available for the large at the moment, but that is changing soon. For me, feeding 4 young adults plus the boss and myself, the XL is way more than big enough. For you, buy a herd of larges, 50 people every week for pool parties !! Wow that must be some neighbourhood, good luck and have fun.

And Ham,
Go with the XL to match your choice in trainers.
-
And Ham,
Start with the XL, then get a large later so you can do more than one dish at a time. You can be doing low and slow on one and grilling on the other, or grill on one and have a large batch of beans (or gumbo or corn bread or whatever) on the other. [p]Brett

2EggTim,[p]Great suggestion!!! Thanks
-
The Virginian,[p]Thanks for the suggestion. I think I will start with the XL!
-
Big Rich,[p]Yea, You're right!!!! I'll need it if I ever have have them over for dinner!!

I have an XL and I love it. I can out on the main course plus side dishes and have room left to spare. It's also nice having areas of the grid that are not as hot to allow the meat to stay warm but not cook as quickly as the center.[p]

City Slicker ,[p]Thanks -- I hope all contraptions will be made for XL soon!

John F.,[p]I live near Princeton.

EggstraLarge,[p]Thanks -- XL it is!

This is an oft-covered subject and probably the vast majority will tell you that the Large is all you need....And that's because the vast majority own the Large...and NOT the XL...and it's really all you need![p]Most of us have large families or entertain at least on an occasional basis...and the large just works....In any one cooking session you can do 30 - 35lbs. of Boston Butt....Up to 5 beer can chickens...a 14 - 16lb. brisket....a 14 - 16lb. turkey...a 20 - 22lb. Prime Rib... and these items will feed a pretty good number of people....[p]With that said...there are many here...myself included that own two or more eggs...and that gives you a TON of cooking flexibility as you're able to cook low-n-slow on one and hot-n-fast on the other and that really creates endless cooking capabilities.....[p]Large is generally the way to go....[p]Ed McLean
