What's the best tool to use? I've tried several different things but none I'm happy with.

Deetwood,
It really depends on how you start the process. I am in favor of cutting them in half, lengthwise, cleaning then with a teaspoon, then filling them and wrapping with bacon. Some people swear by cutting the top off and then cleaning out everything from the top, but that seems like way too much work for me and you basically need a rack to hold them upright or cover the top with bacon.

Here`s one that we found, I believe at Linens N things...was cheap and Sally says it works better than anything else we have used so far.[p]Wess
-
WessB,
OK, I need to know this! How in the he## did you get Sally trained to do that dirty work?!
-
BENTE,
That's what I use too.

Deetwood,
i couldn't see the point in buying a new tool... a small spoon works very well. but that's when the jalapeños are halved. if i do them whole, with just the end cut off, i use the handle of the spoon to ream it out. no sense getting them picture perfect, just twist and tap the thing out

Deetwood,
I use a baby spoon. A plain metal one not one of those plastic coated ones.

Deetwood,
I use a melon baller. -RP
-
Deetwood,
I cut 'em i half and use a teaspoon. Oh, and defintely I wear latex gloves when doing it.

I have to second Wess' suggestion. I used a melon baller until I got this tool as a gift from my lovely wife. It is, by far, the best tool I have found for the job.[p]All the best,
Jim

JSlot,
Are we ever gonna see you back up here in Waldrof ???? Hope things are well my friend.[p]Wess
-
I'll be back one day, Wess. LOL. I was hoping it would be this year, but my wife has a conference in Myrtle Beach that I had already obligated myself to attend. There's no way I'm missin' Atlanta this year, so I hope to see you there, if not before. I know Larry and Rodney are heading up. I'll raise a cold one your way on that Saturday from the coast of SC![p]Jim

Deetwood,
I use a melon baller. It's just the right size with a nice sharp edge.

Deetwood,[p]I use a metal 1/2 tsp measuring spoon. Works great, but there's more than one way to clean a pepper as you've seen.
-
Deetwood,
We use the ol fashion cheap potatoe peeler, perfect for the dept and the edges are curved perfect for removing the seeds and the veins, email if you need some pics
