Last fall several of you posted pictures of a battery operated light you bought at Lowe's or such. I just bought one this week but wasn't sure how I was going to mount it to my wooden table. Much to my surprise the two bottom pieces have very strong earth magnets in them. So, I bought a couple 1.25" plated fender washers and after countersinking the hole I was able to mount them so the flathead screw was flush to the washers. Now the light is easy to set up and easy to remove - and those magnets do have a bite! BTW if this mounting idea isn't new I apologize!

That is very cool, indeed. Great idea......
-
RRP,
Well it's new to me and you just solved my draggin out the extension cord problem!! Thanks!

Jupiter Jim,
At Lowes - just $19.95 - takes 3 AAA batteries but has 6 lamp "bulbs" and really puts out the light. The hood and base are mostly aluminum.

Jupiter Jim,[p]I got the same light and price at Lowe's a couple months ago. I've gone thru a bunch over the years....and this is the best one I've found for the price.

RRP,[p]That is a great idea and will probably save me money on a dental bill. Too lazy to drag out the extension cord so I have been holding a Pen Light in my teeth while checking the food.

Rick's Tropical Delight,[p]That's a fine setup you have, RTD. Question: how do you keep your Daisy Wheel so clean??[p]Good eggin'

RRP,[p]Thank you.

RRP, Nice idea!, I bought the BBQ Grillware Super LED light, but the gooseneck isn't strong enough to support the head, so I may return it for the AAA size.

Rick's Tropical Delight,
WOW! That looks like something out of War of the Worlds!

RRP,
I've had that same light since last fall. It's great. I have changed the batteries one time. Yesterday, I saw that Lowe's has a second version of that light. It has a hockey puck style head with several led's.
