Using Large BGE minus table

I have an unassembled Large BGE and a new table. I want to use the egg without the table now because it is not ready for the weather. If I assemble the egg and use it how hard will it be to get it into the table when I am ready?? Should I just wait and assmeble it in the table when it is ready for the outdoors?? I would think that an assembled egg would be hard to get into the table with the lid and dont want to do take the lid off and reinstall it later.

Lizrad Dragger,[p]I just took mine apart to put it in a table. You are talking about two (2) bolts. You DO NOT want to wait for the table to be ready because you will be kicking yourself. Set it up and cook a steak or brats or a chicken or something and get going![p]Ed

Use it now. When you are ready to put it in the table, remove the top and the firebox/fire ring, reach down and put your hand thru the open intake vent and lift up, over and in. Having a second person to help lift is nice.[p]Easy to do and put back together. [p]Spacey[p]

Yep, I used my Egg on the deck on the little feet and a sheet of slate for several weeks or months until I built my table. So go for it and take care for sparks coming out the bottom.[p]TNW

One of my favorite sayings is "Life isn't a dress rehearsal"
In other words if you wait until you have been able to put a finish on your table and let it cure properly and then "this reason or that reason" you will have already missed days, weeks or even months of the joys of being a BGE owner. Unless you have a back problem or don't have a friend to help you move your large BGE it really isn't all that difficult to place in to your finished table even when you leave the dome on but have removed the inside pieces.[p]Enjoy it NOW!

Amen to that. I think two people can manage it without disassembly and I have done it alone several times by taking the lid off.[p]TNW

OK, Hell with the weather. The real reson I didn't want the table out yet is because the weather is crappy and I didn't want to see my new table covered with ice until i bought a cover. I said the heck with it and "Newman" is now on the deck.

BOBF,[p] 1 coat of Minwax Early American stain, 4 coats of Minwax Spar Urethane. Came out great.

Lizard Dragger,[p]I am glad it came out so well. You do want to put those feet under the egg. Helps disapate the heat. Apparently those paving stones can build up moisture and the heat from the egg will cause them to crack.
