Use a brine for Marinating a Boston Butt or not.

I used a brine to marinate (2) 5.5 pound boston butts over night.
A few of yall said dont use a brine and a few said that a brine was o.k.
Whats the overall vote on pork brine??
Use it or not?
I have 10 hours left to find out what I think!
