mold inside big green egg

After not using the green egg for a couple of months, we opened it to find the inside and the rack coverd in mold. Any idea why and how to effectively clean it?

    dawg10,
Same thing happened to me. I left a water pan in the egg for about ten days and mold city. One big hot burn for about 30 mionutes and I was back in biz. Not the first time it's happened to me. Good luck.

  • dawg10,
BK gave you the correct answer, but your mistake was letting youregg sit idle for two months, ha. Hope it cleans up well and happy cooking.
