eggor,
do stay around - we're family you know and from the "story" you posted a couple weeks ago it sounds like even this cyber family might be able to help in your situation. I hope you land on your feet!
I made a large table with treated lumber for the frame and cedar for th etable top and lower shelf three years ago. I have two large eggs in the table with a nice spot for my large table size umbrella in the middle. This thing must weigh close to 450 pounds!!! Heavy duty for sure!! Anyway, after three years of messing with trying to keep the tires inflated in a cold climate (Missouri and Indiana) for half of the year, I have now changed the tires to solid tires. it may be a little harder to move around but it is better than trying to push the darn thing up two ramps into the back of my 4x4 pick up truck. Yes that happened! I have taken this thing on the road several times for events more than 500 miles away. My wife was not surprized when I ordered my second egg but she did think I was nuts to push it up the ramps! One small error in judgement and I would have been picking up the pieces! I am an egghead all the way!!
I have four very large baloon tires that I may have to give a try. I will take a few pics if I do.
All terain tires would be nice but not necessary to anyone other than an egghead!!
Woody54,
now that is what I was thinking about. Would you mind shareing the source for the wheels. Is that a nipple to greese the hubs with(if so that is sweet, just in case I want to put some miles on my egg)? I was hoping for some big nobby pnumatics for looks but those would work great.
Pdub,
even with larger wheels like that since you are planning to wheel your egg in the grass you should learn to always pull the egg & nest toward you - and NEVER push it. It is a tad top heavy and when even one wheel hits an obstruction it will start to tip over. By pulling it when that happens you can catch it since it will fall toward you. What's better a possible hernia or a broken BGE? LOL
RRP,
yep, pushing is not really an option here. The wheels are already riding axle deep, its more like dragging the egg through soft ground/mud. I think a table will be in order at some point but as a new owner I am too busy cooking.
