SirKeats,
Somehow the name MacGuyver is ringing.
-
SirKeats,
That outfit is pretty slick. Just don't tell us you built it with a swiss army knife. Steve.
-
Maybe one of these...
-
hayhonker,[p]LOL, that reminds me of that Johnny Depp movie Edward Multitool Hands. But could you clean a fish with that thing?
-
SirKeats,[p]Nice solution. With the nasty weather setting in, I've been wondering if I could bring the Egg onto my porch, or in the corner of the garage near the door. It seems like those pipes would be fine for low-n-slow. I wonder about searing though.[p]Let us know how it works.[p]gdenby

SirKeats, I suggest that rather than have the support underneath, arrange a wire sling suspended from above. If you have it supported in two spots, it will be balanced as you remove it to open the top.
-
SirKeats,[p]Very creative.[p]If you're concerned about smoke blowing onto your deck, maybe a small fan to blow it the other way?[p]-Smitty

SMITTYtheSMOKER,[p]thanks![p]i don't know that i care too much about smoke blowing back in. by that time it'd be cool and dispersed enough as to not stain or damage the ceiling (i wouldn't think). it was the direct plume of smoke out of the top that i was worried about.
-
Wise One,[p]Good Idea! I don't plan on leaving the pipe in all the time... just when I'm using the egg, so perhaps I could rig something up on a little hook so that I could still take the contraption down when not in use.
-
SirKeats,[p]What if you placed the egg hinge at a 90 degree angle to the railing and allow the contraption to move while attached to the top of the egg?
-
SirKeats,
What about flexible dryer hose tubing?
-
hayhonker,
That's funny, dude. Dang, I want one, but they are 1) $1200, and 2) Out Of Stock. Bummer.
Cheers mang!
Chris
