Space City Eggfest 2017 TODAY

Spring Chicken

For those of you who have nothing to do today, come on down to Old Town Spring for the Second Annual Space City Eggfest.
We were there for the pre-party last night and it was great. Margarita Machine, delicious fajitas, very impressive Cook's Bags, some really nice items handed to lucky Cooks with the right ticket, and the always present Houston heat/humidity to make us evaporate.
They are expecting between 1,000 and 1,500 paying Tasters. And, as last year, ALL of the proceeds goes to the Texas Children's Hospital, including the revenue from the pre-sold Demo Eggs.
The chance of rain diminishes with each passing hour, so it should be a really good day and fun day tied into one.
If you are anywhere close enough to stop by, please do so. I think you will be impressed with the setup for this Eggfest.
Or check it out here: http://spacecityeggfest.com/

Some pics... But will only load individually from my phone.
The sous vide prime brisket that went into the brisket rendang. Served with turneric rice. Maybe someone else has a pic of the plated bite.

Burmeatballs ala subteam Jonz (@20stone who came straight from the airport to an eggfest, and @20stonespice who puts up with that kind of that shite).

Somehow, @Photo Egg snuck in with some lamb pops at some point. No pics. Because I was too busy stuffing my face. Great googly moogly they were good.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

Great work all around. I think I had some of the best bites I've had at a fest when I was walking around. It was also great to see @Spring Chicken and @Spring Hen for their grand finale.
I am sorry that we we're too beat down to join for Mexican food (me from flying and @20stonespice from doing all the work), but it was great to see everyone again.
Last, I don't know if the Ace folks are on the forum, but I want to thank them as well for being such generous and helpful hosts. They roll out the red carpet for cooks better than anyplace else we've been.(now only 16 stone)

Looking great all around. I love it that the entire event was centered around a worthwhile charity. I wish the eggfests around here were like that.

It was a GREAT time. Only could spend an hour and a half there but, it was an awesome event. My hats off to all who spent a lot of time preparing and cooking.
Told a couple of cooks who I was and was not recognized but, that's OK. It's really all about those who put in all of the time and effort...I really appreciate them for all that they do. I had an awesome time tasting all of the food and seeing some of who I've seen on this forum.
Thank-you for the great time I spent with my step-daughter...priceless.
