I have the old style large BGE with the very small handle. And after all of these years, it was VERY old and faded. I've been a bit jealous of you guys with the newer egg and the bigger handle. So I decided to do something about it and ordered a custom handle from a seller I read about on this forum.
I am a big fan of the Tommy Bahama "relax" line and I am also a big fan of Michelob Ultra in the aluminum bottles, so I asked for the word "RELAX" but for the "X" to be two crossed Mich Ultra bottles. I was very pleased with the look, but even more pleased at how big the handle is and how much easier it is to lift, even though it fits the old style small handle.

That is cool! Do you mind a suggestion? Unless you can reverse the horrible damage from UVL you might want to cover that cool handle whenever it is in the sunlight. Even a simple wrap with aluminum foil will do the trick!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Don't mind the suggestion at all. The maker of the handle gave me some basic instructions on how to keep it looking sharp. I'm a low maintenance kind of guy, but I agree that it won't hurt to shield it from the hot Georgia sun during the summer months.

Can I ask where you got it? My little old style handle is also really ratty looking and I would love to do something similar.Cincinnati, Ohio. Large BGE since 2011. Still learning.

I like the OP's handle, but if you just want a basic BGE handle, the new handles sold by the dealer for the mini/small/med Egg fits the old-style Large.OhioEgger said:Can I ask where you got it? My little old style handle is also really ratty looking and I would love to do something similar. -
