I can get a deal on a new one, I have a L and a M and want something for weeknight cooks. Portability is only "sort of" important, just want a nice compliment to the L and M. What do you recommend? Thanks!

I own neither, but I do have a large and a small, I would have to go MM.

If you just "want" another Egg, I'm the last person that will talk you out of it.
But it just does not seem like you are going to gain a vast amount of savings or time running the Mini Max over the Medium you already have.
If you want to make your Medium more efficient for fast cooks take out the stock cast iron lump grate and drop in the 9 inch from your Large. It will give you better airflow and raise your lump level.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
MM. No contest in my mind. Way more versatile. The Mini has its place, but my choice would be MM.

I have never cooked on a mini but I do love my mini max. You can fit a whole butt or small turkey on a minimax but I dont see doing much more than a little grilling on the mini.

Though I agree with the advice Photo Egg gave you then maybe you have some money burning a hole in your pocket! If so - given the two choices you listed and your reasons I would go with a M/M. Though I do not own one Ido own and love my small. Remember the M/M is just a small with the bottom made shorter! They have the same grill size. For that matter ask your dealer for a good deal on a small since BGE made it the ugly step child in the family!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

I absolutely love my mini. I have a Large, small and the cool lil guy. The mini gets used 4-5 times a week. Don't be fooled by it's comical size because it is a serious work horse.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

I'm surprised no one has suggested a KJ Jr. or Weber yetcanuckland

@Mattman3969 what do you cook on the mini?L, M, MM "These pretzels are making me thirsty"

@Photo Egg good idea, I got the woo at the CGS and that works really well for chicken thighs and not overcooking chicken in general. I'll take a look at moving the L grate.L, M, MM "These pretzels are making me thirsty"

@GrateEggspectations I hear you, the thought of the MM gets me happy, even though it probably doesn't do much different than the Medium.L, M, MM "These pretzels are making me thirsty"

@NPHuskerFL since I have a L and a M, is there any logical reason to get a MM?L, M, MM "These pretzels are making me thirsty"

@garthb4903: To answer the question you pose to Husker above, my incentive for buying the MM in addition to the Large was the ability to move it, and specifically, the ability to set it up under a covered porch in precipitation (as my Large is placed where it has no coverage from the elements, but lives under a cover when not in use).
-
Why would logic enter into the conversation? jk. I do not have a mini or mm, but if it were me the mm seems like the more useable grill in terms of space.

The MM has been an excellent cooker for our family. I have used mine both on the road and at home a bunch. You said portability is only sort of important but, obviously it is portable if the need to arises. Since you already have a LG & Med is there any logical reason to get a MM? Not really. But, you're an Egghead so throw logic out the window.

@GrateEggspectations I like the idea of searing burgers better on the MM, and also the covered porch, makes sense, thanks for the "logic"!L, M, MM "These pretzels are making me thirsty"

@garthb4903: I am located in Canada and get a lot of snow. We do a lot of hosting - I hated the idea of planning a dinner only to have precipitation ruin it. The MM was easy to justify in my case (even though it's almost $1000 here).

Minimax all the way

Mini. MM/Small is too close to the medium to make it worth it. I had L/M/S, sold my small and run L/M/m. Get a table for either, though, they are short.
