Brisket Burgers---I AM CONVINCED!!!!

So I went to the Fresh Market in Greenville, SC the other day to get some ground beef for burgers. However, the brisket was on sale and I recalled many on this forum saying how much they preferred brisket burgers over chuck or sirloin. I rolled the dice and in one minute the butcher had ground the brisket. By far the brisket burger was the best I had ever cooked. If you haven't tried it please do so!!! THEY ARE GREAT and so much better than the same ole ground beef.[p]

BYC,
do they take longer to cook?
-
luis,[p]Nope that was the second best part next to taste. I cooked just like a regular ground beef burger. The butcher said he thought brisket made the best burger but seldom do people ask for them. Could be the next big secret franchise!

BYC,
too bad i never see ground brisket beef at the market.
-
BYC,[p]Was it like a market trimmed flat?[p]mShark
-
mollyshark,[p]Yes---It was almost hard to tell the difference between the flank steak and brisket. Just enough fat to make the most excellent burger. I'm sold.
-
Luis,[p]Just pick out a brisket and ask the butcher to ground. That's what I did and will continue to do moving forward...
-
BYC,[p]Yea, it's amazing how much better they are (moister, more flavor etc.) I won't go back![p]Smokey

BYC,[p]Did you just get the flat or did you get a whole packer or what? How was is trimmed?
-
Luis,
If you have a Kitchen-Aid mixer get the grinder attachment for it and grind you own.[p]I've ground a lot of meat through mine![p]Easy peasy...

BYC,
I live about a mile from there. Ya coulda swung by to cook it! ;-)

Leohat,[p]In this case I purchased a very large flat. Trimmed lean
