Grease bubbles on the exterior dome?

Last night as the egg was warming up, I heard what sounded like steak sizzling on the egg and there appeared to be "grease sweat" bubbling on the dome exterior. Should I be concerned? What causes this to happen?

No concern. Your egg has the Meat Sweats likely due to many consecutive L&S cooks. Egg on.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Lots of people have posted about this. I don't know what causes it. Nothing to be concerned about. When the Egg is warm, just wipe it off with a damp cloth.Hood Stars, Wrist Crowns and Obsession Dobs!

Moisture in the ceramic is being driven out by the heat and it escapes through the cracks in the glazing. The moisture carries gunk from the egg with it thus producing the brown liquid. This is normal. I use Simple Green to clean my eggs and I recommend it.

when the egg is warm/hot, i wipe the goo off with a wet paper towel.
it doesn't happen often, typically only after periods of rain followed by a high heat cook (dome getting hot).

it washes right off in the rain

That's a great picture. And to think some folks put their grills away for the winter. What a waste. It looks brand new compared to the first picture.Snellville, GA

It looks nasty. No need to clean it. One or two cooks and it will disappear.
