It will be myself, the wife, my 10 month old, and both sets of grand parents. Also a counter surfing labrador retriever named Gus. This will be my first time hosting it. Thoughts would be appreciated. I thought maybe a prime rib but that is not the wife's favorite cut. Maybe a tenderloin?

Do a beef tenderloin. APL style. You won't forget it, and you'll be the favorite son-in-law for all eternity."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

Tenderloin is easy too. Keep it simple. It's a busy day

Not to go left field, but maybe a spatchcock turkey?

I don't know if anyone's mentioned a beef tenderloin, but they taste good.

I have had the same dilemma so to speak and wanted to do the prime rib, but it's not the favorite cut of my wife. Have done tenderloins before and always loved, but never done one on the BGE. That ends this year! Thanks for the inspiration as I follow your thread!

Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

I'm in the same dilemma. Would love to do a prime rib but the sister-in-law does not eat beef. So no beef tenderloin either. She'll eat other meats though. Thinking about doing several racks of lamb since that's Dad's favorite. He quit ordering lamb at restaurants because he said it's never as good as what comes off the egg. I might do 3 or 4 racks and cook them differently. One breaded, couple different rubs, maybe one salt and pepper only.Aledo, Texas

Rack of lamb or a bone in pork roast are great choices for Christmas dinner. I saw some beautiful bone in pork roasts at Cost Co just yesterday. Doing Prime Rib myself, the family has threatened bodily harm if I don't.

Definitely a tenderloin. I do them on the egg every Christmas and it's always a big hit! and it's not a difficult cook.

Prime rib roast or tenderloin. I like the rack of lamb, but my mixed crowd would all approve.

Rack of pork Xmas eve, bone in rib roast Xmas day. Had done a tenderloin last couple of years but it isn't my favorite piece of the cow, and I got a great deal on the rib roast.

We've done beef tenderloin the last couple of years with great applause. This year I'll probably spin a rib roast on the Kamado Joe.
