Just heard that Leon Russell passed away. What was your favorite song of his? I like Tightrope and Queen of the Roller Derby.

I had a friend who was a DJ, and got lots of demo records which, sadly, never were the actual releases. He had a demo version of Clapton's "Eric Clapton." The version of "Rain" was double tracked, maybe more. The place where Clapton's solo starts in Rain was Pearly Gates.
There was a cut where Leon playing better than anything I'd ever heard. Have no recollection of what the tune was. My thought at the time was that everything else I'd heard him play must have been edited down. Aside from Mac Rebenack, it was among the best piano I'd heard in rock.
If I had a big high hat like Mr. Russell's, it would certainly be off now in tribute.

His work along with other members, while being musicians with the "Wrecking Crew" , has to be the best collection of some of the greatest music ever recorded.
And these great music talents received virtually no credit for their work at the time.Large BGE, MiniMAX BGE, 2 Mini BGE's, R&V Fryer, 36" Blackstone Griddle, Camp Chef Dual Burner 40K BTU StoveBGE ChimineaProsper, TX -
