But I will admit I like salad on mine. These were way above average burger, probably just good luck with the grocery store ground beef. The Spouse does mustard and cheese, I do ketchup and veggies.

what temp are you cooking at . I seem to have a problem with way too much smoke

I would guess too much smoke means you have not let the coals heat and stabilize long enough. I started these at 500 and let them cool down to 400 as they cooked. Good looking burgers. I alternate between BGE burgers and smash burgers on the cast iron. Family is split on which they like better...but they still eat them all!EggMcMcc

Looking great doc. No sides, but plenty of fixins. I like the bigger-than-the-bun size of the patties.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Ground chuck (80/20) or something leaner? They look leaner than ground chuck. Good looking meal regardless.

The lump has volatile gasses that you want to burn off before you cook. Let the fire get hot and stable and the smoke clear up before you cook.shayes6 said:thanks I will try this tonight
