Came out pretty good.  No smoke ring but lots of great smoke flavor.

Looks like you nailed it!  Some days I get a smoke ring some days I don't, flavor is always there.  Great job

Smoke rings are way over-rated.  The bark is the key, and it looks like you hit the bulls eye.  Bravo!

Brisket looks great!  If bark, texture, and flavor are right then you nailed it!

I have yet to get a good smoke ring on any of my briskets.  At first this was disappointing, but the briskets were good and kept getting better with each cook, so I have now ended my quest for the elusive smoke ring.  Maybe it will show up one day when I least expect it.

You can actually get a smoke ring in the oven if you know how. That's why it is not judged in competitions.

Looks pretty good to me.  The smoke ring is is just a look and doesn't taste any different.  I have found using cherry wood helps though and is good with any cut of beef.
