It's been a while, guys (and gals)! Work has been keeping me quiet busy, but I'm gearing up for for the super bowl and would like to impress my guests with a delicious butt off the BGE. However, the forecast here in Birmingham is for snow and rain starting Thurday night. [p]Any advice on cooking in the rain? As you can guess, my bge is not located under a cover.[p]Thanks![p]Bama Fire

    Bama Fire,
Use dry lump, and open a beer. No troubles cooking in the rain. I cooked in a huge downpour once, and used BluesnBBQ's suggestion of a loose aluminum foil tent over miss daisy. Other than that, you might have to open your vents more than usual because of the humid air. [p]Other than that, no worries.[p]Have fun

Bama Fire, You CAN DO THIS! I cook in the snow, rain, sleet, high winds all the time. My advice, put on the long handles, fire up that EGG with a full load of lump and go for it. As usual, don't open that puppy up unless life or limb is at risk. Sometimes I do find it a little more difficult to maintain temp. in really rough weather, but you can keep it close.
As far as cover goes, years ago I used a Refrigerator box or a stove box that was weighted down with bricks or rocks. You can customize to fit your needs and you would be surprised at the abuse those old boxes can take!
Best of luck and let me know how it goes for you. Your weather will be hitting me Fri. p.m.! R1[p]
