2.5 lb. Prime Tri-Tip from Costco we bought a pack of 6 for $135.00.
Seasoned with Southern Flavor BBQ and Garlic Rub.
On the Grill Grates @400* direct.
Quarter turn every eight minutes.
I'm going to let it rest for 15 minutes.
Served with Sautéed Asparagus
This was a wonderful and tender meal love those Prime Tri-Tips.

Looks delicious!! -
looks delicious!“There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body.”

Dude!! You knocked that one out of the park. If it tasted half as good as it looks you'd still be golden.

That is a great looking Tri-Tip post cook and after cook. I wish my local Costco carried it. I talked to the butcher and he said they can't order it in my region. Have to goto a local butcher to get it.Large and Small BGECentral, IL

I havebeen on a tri-tip kick lately. I guess the ones I get aren't prime because I pay near half that for vacuum sealed ones at the grocery store I go to. They are so delicious though. I have had at least one a week the last several weeks! I use a platesetter on the grill and just do indirect (never turn it) but sear it on the blackstone. It makes an amazing crust. I had some for work the other day that I let some people sample on, they couldn't believe how juicy it was out of the microwave.... I love Tri-tip....

Oh yeah, I do love tri-tip, also! I just can't get away from the Santa Maria rub, though I do crave that onion-y flavor of that rub.

What part of the cow does tri tip come from? What would be a comparable cut? TIA.
