What is savory?

I am trying to make J.J.'s rub and I am unable to find savory at the grocery store. Is there an alternative spice that I can use, or do I just delete it?

orio kid, funny!, I`m doing the same thing, My wife went out and got all the ingredients for the rub.....the savory came from a LARGE grocery chain...
The only thing that she couldn`t get "ground" was the Rosemary, thats ok, I`ll grind it myself....
I`m gonna rub up my pork loin roast with it tomorrow.....[p]Roger!

The label on the bottle calls it Summer Savory. It should be available from any grocery store.
