I think the first one came out better but that could just be a user error. When I cut into it the breast was perfect but the legs looks undercooked.Cleveland, OH

Do you have a meat thermometer? If not get one, pull at 155 on the thickest part of the breast. This is an excellent cook on the egg.Jacksonville FL

I do. I pulled it at 160. And I thought I waited too long but it's still some red at the joint of the leg.Cleveland, OH

Red doesn't mean its not done, temp does. Pull a little earlier next time and let it stand a few minutes.Jacksonville FL

That looks quite tasty, just did one Friday. Try 350 raised direct, you can easily make a raised grid like this
That will bring it up to the rim and it works great for cooking extra on a L&S. Cheap Weber grate (Lowes or HD) some SS bolts and washers.

I did one myself yesterday. First time doing it indirect raised at the top of my adjustable rig, 400 dome. Light coat of olive oil, Ravens rub - skin side up for entire cook. Nice crispy skin. Cook time about 1 hr 20 min. Completely wiffed on taking some pics....

How did you have it oriented on the egg? On my large, the back, near the hinge, runs a bit hotter than the rest of the grate. When I do chicken, I point the dark meat that way, so it is exposed to the heat more than the breast is.

Cooked my 1st as well this weekend. 450 indirect for an hour or so, I was in a hurry but it came out perfect.

Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting. The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president.
