    carlson,
I just have to ask, do you have a mini? I can not see feeding five with the one I have. This is not to say it can't be done,I have not tried it. Fits two steaks no problem. You can always feed in shifts. Sorry I can't help.[p]Earl

  • Earl, yes sir i do have a mini and have cooked wonderful four pound boston butts in the past.

carlson,[p]I would go with a turkey breast since it's shape approximates the cooking "chamber" of the mini. For feeding 5 people, I'd be looking for an entree with the highest yield and there's no waste with a breast.[p]Just my $.02[p]K~G

    <p />carlson,
If i was going to cook for 5 people on the mini i would cook pork tenderloin. You need to buy a 8" pie pan and a extra 9" grid, place pie pan on the grid in the mini, fill half way with orange juice, place new grid on pan.Cut tenderloin in 7" lenghts, you should be able to get 5 pieces on the egg, cook at 300 degrees for about 45 minutes.

    carlson,
Just a quick suggestion, whatever you make on the mini should be a side and the main attraction. The reason is simple capacity. I smoke a rack of ribs on my mini by rolling it once and fastening it with bamboo skewers. It stands up directly on the grill. I smoke it for 4 hours.[p]KennyG’s suggestion of a small turkey breast is a great one and sometime I will try it on my mini. I have not figured out an indirect setup for my mini, but I have not tried either.[p]Lots of luck and let me know if can help further,
