Lodge Cast iron pizza pan...many uses?

Options

I am pondering a purchase:  http://www.amazon.com/Lodge-Pro-Logic-P14P3-Pizza-14-inch/dp/B0000E2V3X/ref=sr_1_25?ie=UTF8&qid=1461350664&sr=8-25&keywords=lodge+CAST+iron+cookware

Seems to me that this could be a very versatile piece of hardware.  I have a good pizza stone, so I don't know that I'd necessarily use it for cooking pizzas, but I might.  My Egg is a large.  Wouldn't this work well as a heat deflector?  My Platesetter is only 2-legged, so I have issues there.  And this could be used for a cast iron cooking surface for steaks/burgers.  What else?  Surely there's more.

Or maybe I don't really need it...

Oh you need it to go with your want. I use mine on the stove top for sandwiches all the time.....in the oven, it bakes a mean bunch of biscuits. Does a good job on pizza inside as well.

Can't speak for the egg as I have a medium and it is to large for that....The thing to know, is you need to cut back on the temp a bit from what you would run a baking sheet. It will cook hotter and faster if baking on it. It is a very versatile piece....mine spends a lot of time on top of my gas range.

I have 2 cast iron griddles.  They get a lot of use in the kitchen.  1 wasn't enough on "pancake day" in our house so my husband bought me another one about 15-20 years ago.  Was looking for a bigger one and option without the long handle.

I have that pan, have had for a long time.  I used to use it on my Gas Stovetop for pancackes, still use it in oven for pizza.  Only time I made Pizzas on egg I used the Southern Living Stone (have since learned not to) so I intend to use it next time.

I've got a decent collection, but that one is my most used.  Don't give it a second thought, just get it.

I don't have that exact one, but I have a 14 inch griddle and I use it for a reverse sear with a raised grid.  I put the griddle on the standard grid + drip pan + raised grid.  Cook the steaks indirect, then remove everything but the griddle. This works well because the cast iron heats up during the indirect phase and you don't have to remove a hot plate setter.  I use a drip pan just so I don't have burning drippings on the cast iron during the indirect phase.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

@SmokeyPitt - I like the idea of not having to remove the platesetter for a reverse sear.

On order. Been looking/waiting for the right pan.
