This Saturday, 4-16-2016, Shelly and I along with about 15-20 others will attend the N Texas BBQ Brethren Mega Bash at Lake Ray Roberts State Park.
What happens is a bunch of us find somewhere twice a year to meet, setup a few cookers (Eggs, grills, stick burners or what ever you want to bring) and cook some great Q, learn from each other, meet some new Brethren and hang out with old friends. The nice thing is you can bring a cooker or not. Bring something to cook on someone's cooker or not. Or just come out and enjoy a great day of some fine food and fellowship. Rain or Shine it's on!!
It is a Texas State Park and they have a small fee to get in but that's OK. It's a great place. Has a playground next to the pavilion.

Hotch, thanks for posting this. I've been on The Brethren for a long time and have attended all of the Texas Bashes and they just keep getting better. Met you and Kelley (EggObsessed) at last Fall's bash which is how I ended up here (so the rest of y'all know who to blame). McKinney is just a little far for us for this weekend. We'll definitely attend the next Brethren bash in the Fall. It was lots of fun with some great people!! OK heads up on the early arriving!!
The park is open at 6:00am.
The gate is manned at 8:00am.
If you arrive between 6:00am and 8:00am you will need to get the envelope, at the gate, fill it out the form and put in the $7 per persons over 13 in the envelope.
Then there is a part that is to be torn off and put on the dash of your vehicle.
Please let everyone know.

Hotch, thanks for posting all of the great pics. Enjoyed seeing you and Shelley again and meeting Scott (Texaswig). Sure could have used a bunch more hungry folks yesterday and am glad the rain showed up today and not yesterday.

@caliking Thanks, Dave had some dough left over after making his pig toes. Shelly took it, made dough pockets, stuff a cube of PepperJack and It's My Rub Smooth Blend. Then I drop them in the fryer. Damn those little things were great!
Everyone is invited to come out to a Brethren Bash, cooking or not. That's what is so great about the Brethren Bash. These are a great bunch to hang out with. We just added a few Eggheads to the mix. Good food and great friends.
