Slap-Yo-Mama,
Sweeeeeet!

Slap-Yo-Mama,
Very, very sharp![p]Mike

Slap-Yo-Mama[p]I am envious. I hope the one I am building comes out as nice. One thing - I think someone said you still need the little green feet under the egg to allow air circulation to cool the bottom. Any comments out there?
-
BOBF,[p]Yea, The granite got pretty warm the other night and I was only at 350 degrees. I am going to try the trick Fishless suggested - He says I could put the egg on three quarters and this small airspace will keep the temp down on the granite. The granite is pretty thick - about 1 1/4"

Slap-Yo-Mama,
WOW,
That is one nice looking table set-up. What kind of wood and finish may I ask????[p]Thanks,
Bordello[p]
-
Slap-Yo-Mama,[p]Again man, that is nice.
-
Lawn Ranger,[p]Now I just need some nice bbq tools with custom wood handles:-) I will let the wife calm down first!
-
Bordello,[p]I didn't want to spend too much on it so I just used Pressure treated pine (and alot of sandpaper). The stain is actually the same stain I used on my deck. It is a redwood colored semi-transparent deck stain.

Slap-Yo-Mama,
Very, very nice!!!
and to keep it that way I still believe you need the green ceramic feet. Here's why - while the 3 quarters will give a tiny amount of space the heat will still move right on through to that beautiful round 1 1/4" thick granite slab underneath and water trapped under the slab and in the wood table will turn to steam. I was a non-believer and sat my large directly on a 2 1/2" thick exposed aggregate concrete thinking the aggregate left ample air space. Well - it didn't and when that stone broke it was like an explosion.

Slap-Yo-Mama,[p]That is one nice setup. [p]With the two tables, you could have an "L" shaped setup or any way that works best! Most of all, you have flexability![p]Smokey

That's very impressive for pt-pine.
-
Slap-Yo-Mama,[p]Your table(s) is/are awesome!![p]What are the dimensions for the smaller of the two? Because of limited space... that actually looks like about the size I was thinking for mine (that's a large egg no?). Something small like that but nicer (and higher up) than the stock nest.[p]I don't know if I could afford a custom cut granite top (LOL) but I could figure something out!
-
Actually... if it's not too much trouble... the full dimensions on the smaller of the two tables would be much apprecited (e.g. LxWxH as well as the height of the shelf).[p]Thanks!!
-
SirKeats,[p]I have it drawn in AutoCad at work. I will convert it to an image and send it to you tomorrow.
-
Hi Slap:[p]Extremely nice job on the tables!!!![p]I'm very jealous of your granite slabs! At my local Granite shop prices that looks to be about $800 bucks worth of granite. Again, WELL DONE![p]Eggnerd[p]

Slap-Yo-Mama,
A step at a time, My Friend. Remember...If Mama's happy,...then everyone's happy. Words to live by.[p]Mike

Slap-Yo-Mama,[p]
Kind of makes my little set up look sad...[p]But ...mine will work for now!
-
Slap-Yo-Mama,[p]Thanks!
-
Can't beat that granite top. Nicely done!
-
SirKeats,[p]I have three drawings for you. I had to convert them to a word document. I can email them to you but I don't see your email address.
