I gotta call out @RRP on this. This guy, goes out of his way to help eggheads with gaskets all the time, and recently organized a group buy for baking steel. And you know what he gets in return? Nothing. I mean who does he think he is? Going out of his way to help complete strangers and then he literally takes nothing in return. It's unheard of. He's completely out of control, I tell ya. I mean this showed up at my door; a steel AND a rutland gasket, with a crazy amount of packaging to make sure it's not damaged:
All kidding aside, at a time when so much bat$hit crazy stuff is going on and society in general seems to have lost their mind, it amazes me to find such awesome people on a BBQ forum of all places, of which I am grateful to be a very small part. Seriously, THANK YOU Ron for continually going out of your way to help fellow Eggheads. Humanity may not be lost when it comes to fire and smoke and meat. Cheers.

Ron aka RRP, comes from the old school of you help people and not ask for anything in return, because that is how it should be. He just gets the pleasure out of helping any way he can. These days everyone always seems to want something in return for doing something for someone. I would like to think there are a lot of people on this forum that have helped others and not asked for anything in return. That's how I was brought up.
The baking steel looks interesting and if my pizza stone ever breaks I may look into one.

@Photo Egg great links for the steel. I plan to use it for New York style pizza and as a flat top for burgers, bacon, eggs, etc. I'm sure I could use my CI pan with similar results, but more toys makes for more fun.Large BGE & mini stepchild & a KJ Jr.The damp PNW -

Rons from the "Old Guard". Quite simply, the BEST forum in its prime.
Please don't associate him with this group. This forum is more in line with batShit crazy, done lost.....it's mind. My BS detector rings like constant tinnitus around here.BrandonQuad Cities
