I've been patiently waiting for this moment since Christmas. Months of anticipation, hours of "how to" videos, what to buy-what not to buy?, discovering THIS COMMUNITY! Remember when your egg was this clean? I'm so happy I got it dirty tonight. After five hours of labor, from nest to snuffer, I got this bad boy up and running. In minutes it was climbing upward of 400 and all I could do was marvel at its power. If one thing rings true during my little time here, everyone in this forum has tasted some extraordinary food that many will not. The BGE amazing!
I'm sure I'll be chiming in and asking questions. I'm a gear head and ran into a couple of links that looks like trouble. The community is wonderful and I look forward to reading more stories from you all. *Pictured above are two choice NY steaks cooked and devoured at 10pm on a large BGE. Best. Steaks. Ever.

I was smiling looking at your virgin Egg. I fondly remember the day I brought it home. I think I cooked steak as well. I can't remember. But it was the start to an Eggcellent culinary eggperience.

Very nice post, wonderful presentation. Welcome to the forum, this is the landing strip for the OCD, and all brings BGE. Great folks in here, they will help you or share insight on anything. One little bit of warning, buying the BGE is the least expensive part of owning an egg. The expense is continuing to own the Egg. It is wallet Genocide. You have been warned.

I do indeed. For some reason I was nervous as hell that first time. I guess I was worried SWMBO would think I spent a large pile of $$$ on a grill that cooked terribly. Of course, that did NOT happen and at least that first night (two Rib Eyes as I remember) were awesome and were the start of a beautiful relationship!
Welcome to the family!
