Has anyone tried this on their Ken Onion?

  • no but im buying it today. I have noticed some etching an inch or so above the blade. I was going to use steel wool but this will do the trick.

    Thanks for posting

The Cen-Tex Smoker you're welcome. I'm about ready to pull the trigger on the KO and I figured I buy all the toys to go with it. Here's a link to the manufacturer's website  http://www.prosharpeningsupplies.com/ check them out. They have some very cool pictures of people sharpening from around the world. They're in Austin.

The DudeThis is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-you's. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head. Luckily I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind, you know, limber.

Walter SobchakNihilists! *uck me. I mean, say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.

I haven't bought it, yet.  I'll be doing my knives in the next few weeks and intend to buy it.  I've got some etching from my last sharpening round because i did not use masking tape on the blade so I'll see if the belt corrects that too.

@dan23 My KO showed up yesterday and I can see why everyone likes them so much. Per Amazon the strop belt should be here tomorrow. I'll let you know how it does.

I wrote about my 1st run here (a tip or 2 included). Make sure you use masking tape on the blade. It will etch if you don't!  http://eggheadforum.com/discussion/1166761/work-sharp-ken-onion-edition/p1
