Happened to be there for lunch today and saw this in the case.  Had to call the meat guy over to see if it was real,  He said he had never seen it near that low, looked at me and said, "if you have the money and don't buy that, you're nuts".  I am nuts, but you're dam right I bought it.

Wow that is a score.  Are you going to cut it into steaks and freeze?  Maybe try dry aging a chunk of it?

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I gotta do steaks.  To scared to really do anything else.  The meat guy was kind enough to show/describe how to cut them because I've never done it before.  He said to remove the hard fat like a brisket off the one end where it's pretty visible.  From there he said do your best to get 1.5 to 1.75 per inch steaks and to take my time.  Good enough advise I guess!

Same price here in Augusta already cut into nice thick steaks. Picked up a pack last week. Tenderloin cut into filets was 9.99 a lb.

They were $11.99 cut.  I asked and he pointed over them and said he would have to charge me the cut price. That's a phenomenal deal there in Augusta, both ways.

Before Christmas they were 7.99 a pound and had 25 off each pack. I think I paid under 95 for the whole loin.  Heck of a deal.

Got around 15-16 steaks from it. Nice thick one.

Ill have to go back up there soon! Hope they put the ribeyes on sale!

Here are the fruits. The pack was 17.75lbs.  I got 10 perfect 1.5" steaks along with the end that I'll figure out something to do with.  It was a lot easier than I thought, so nobody should fear it.  If you've trimmed a brisket, you can make steaks.

Those are some fine looking steaks. You could grind up the smaller end and make 2-3 awesome burgers (or one really awesome burger).

Yep. Foodsaver and all have been individually packed and are in the freezer. If you don't have a vac sealer I and the others on this board can't recommend them enough.

We don't get full packers at our Costco's and no more Tri Tips. The least they can do is Prime me @ $6.99.

Yep! I've got the most basic food saver.  I bought that same piece of meat at Xmas and ate part as a roast and cut the rest as steaks and vac packed them. It's great to pluck out a prime strip from the freezer for less than half the price I could find it usually.
