Is there any CURE for this addiction?

I find myself spending hours a day reading posts and trying to keep up with all that's going on. Is there a BGErs Annonomous group out there? Woke up this morning and checked the forum. Went to church for a couple of hours to set up for VBS and came home and here I am again. It's madness!!!

NCque,[p]I hear ya! I think I've read every single post since I got my egg a couple months ago. I went on vacation to Hawaii and couldn't stop thinking about how much I missed my egg and the forum![p]by the way, I'm putting a beer can chicken on in just a few minutes.

Herm,
That's my plan for supper tonight!

NCque,[p]It has to be madness. I have a seafood allergy yet I still read about cooking salmon, sea bass, shrimp, oyster sauce, fish sauce, etc.... just as if I'm going to cook and eat it. Maybe its just those pics AlaskanC, the Giada of Alaska, posts that attract me so. I don't know. It's irrational... it's madness... it's.... it's just that egging is becoming an obsession. Now to go and find another hatch, another clue to help solve this mystery.[p]Egg 'Lost in the forum' Racer

EggRacer,
i find that having a hobbey that takes up time while the egg cooks up a brisket, butt, or ribs helps
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
fishlessman,
you started that particular 'hobby' of yours when you were 13, long before you knew anything about brisket, fella.

NCque,[p]You're only tracking ONE forum?? I hear forums are just a stepping stone to the serious stuff, like an Eggfest.[p]~thirdeye~

thirdeye,
I really want to go to the Eggtober Fest, but will not make it this year. Lord willing, I will be the father of twins in late August. Will have to just 'read' about all the successes of the Egg on the forum for another year. From the video, Eggtober Fest looks like lots of fun!

NCque,
Nope. You might miss something.
-
NCque,
If you find one, let me know. Everyone at work thought I was nuts until I brought samples of leftover steak and chicken from the Egg...now they ask me to send pictures every time I cook. It IS addicting!
-
NCque,
Man, I'm right there with ya. I used to spend hours on the 4GEA golf forum, because I was a golfaholic. I cut down on that habit and now I've got this new addiction. Who woulda ever thought that I'd be sitting at a computer writing a review on lump charcoal instead of golf balls :-)
Gotta go check the BGE I'm cooking 12 chicken wings on the new nickel plated wing-rack that I bought.
-
Tiger Tony,[p]I too have replaced my 4GEA time w/Egg time!
-
NCque,[p]Best of luck w/the twins in August. Two questions.[p]1. Have you or your wife started nesting yet? Each time my wife was pregnante I started cooking - a lot.
2. Where in NC are you? I'm in the RTP area. Just curious.[p]Thanks,
Tom

fromNY_NowIN_NC,
i guess my handle should read "fromNC_NowIN_TN" grew up in shelby NC home of Bridges BBQ Lodge and not too far from RO's BBQ in Gastonia. Still consider NC home in a lot of ways.
As far as nesting is concerned, we're doing it a little bit I guess. I've been cooking average of 3 nights a week since November 3, 2005. (my egg's birthday) The wife says that if I'm addicted to something, better it be the BGE rather than pornography.

IT'S "NOT" ADDICTING AT ALL
i need to run now, so i can read the rest of the posts.
the only cure that i know is - COOK something and you wan't have time to spend on your computer.
