By now you already know your YETI will keep your hot drink HOT and your cold drink COLD. Both conditions deteriorate in time. With a cold drink with ice that means ice will still melt and water down your drink. If it's just ice water so what? but if it's an adult beverage that's a different matter. What I prefer to use are those scilicone ice cube trays which make huge nearly 2 x 2 x 1.75" cubes. I find 1 of them in my 16 oz YETI lasts a good hour and only gives up about 1/2 of it's size. Then I either throw it out or use it later for something else. Here's a comparison shot of a giant, a regular cube and one of those little crescent shaped cubes from your ice maker. You will be astounded how long 1 of these giant cubes last.
