my wife says I always smell like smoke...

i married a skinny girl, so I guess the smell of smoked meat isn't naturally attractive to her lol

@SGH , at the rate I am cooking on it, I might just fatten me and her up lol not sure that would negate the smoke smell

My wife used to say the same thing when I used BGE lump. Buy some Rockwood and you won't have that problem anymore.

Yep, @slovelad  you'll always be "the sticker guy".  No harm in that.

Big Green Craig is the "t-shirt guy."  I'm the "devastatingly handsome guy."  We all have our cross to bear.

BTW - men and woman look at that smoke smell very differently.  I hang my bedding out during a smoke to try and capture it.  Women, not so much.

Not being negative here - but brutally honest. Based on personal eggperience I got deeply involved trying to help a couple through this very same issue!  You REALLY do need to get it resolved and very SOON! After an intervention at their home  where I cooked for them I still wasn't able to help the couple with their bitchy, spoiled, whiney assed 13 year old daughter. In that case the wife got all the support from that child that she needed and in the end the dude sold both his L and S eggs for a major loss! I thought he had 'nads, but in the end he lost his eggs and my respect!

My wife had a apartment get some damage for the next door neighbors place catching fire. She doesn't like the smell of smoke. So I just always take a shower before bed.

Respectfully disagree. Although burning something more neutral like RW will be better on the food. It won't make the guy standing by the egg smell any less like smoke.

It's not nearly as bad though.  My wife noticed a big difference too.  Pretty sure there was some level of sarcasm in posters comment.

@tarheelmatt  Matt I agree. & I know Michael @DoubleEgger totally meant it with sarcasm.
I add wood chunks most times when going L&S so there's gonna be smoke. And as far as that goes I end up smelling like smoke when egging regardless.  My wife doesn't care for me smelling like a campfire but, the grub wins. I take a shower and whammy! Bing! Bang! Boom! Problem solved. Don't go taking a cat nap on the sofa smelling like a Smokehouse

A downside for me are all the lightweight underarmor shirts and fleeces I have small burn marks in because of sparks for whatever reason. They make small holes half the size of a cigarette. Must have 6 ruined shirts and 3-4 north face fleeces.

I don't linger in the smoke much.  Have a fan on a swivel to direct the smoke away (vegetarian house next door).  I suppose I do smell like smoke sometimes but it's good smoke.  After I start up the eggs, I get the hell away from them when that smoke is rank.

In my world, those would still be considered, "my good shirts".

You live next to a vegetarian, with as much cooking as you do outdoors, that makes me laugh.  I think my neighbors would call the cops to do a well check if I skipped a day of cooking outside.
