Dumb Turkey Question

Everybody is preparing their cooking plans for Thanksgiving. For years I have fried a turkey in peanut oil. Part of the preparation is injecting the bird with a jar of Creole Butter or some other spicy concoction. Question: Will this method help a smoked turkey? It really adds some zip to a fried turkey. Some of the injector kits are readily available at most stores and there is a big variety of flavors. I don't brine my smoked turkey, just rub it above and below the skin. Has anyone experimented?

I injected mine with Cajun injector creole butter. I wasn't going to, but @SGH and his great wisdom recommended it, so I did.

Turkeys are some dumb animals but they taste great, inject awayJacksonville FL

I would think if it worked for deep frying it should work for the egg. I am brining mine, but am contemplating also injecting it as well.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo.

I've used that stuff several times. It's great on a smoked bird.BGE XL- Tomball, TX

Loved the way he gloved up to handle the turkey ... then spread the soaked chips with the gloves on ... then back to placing the turkey on the grill with, I suspect, the same gloves.

The greatest barrier against all wisdom, the stronghold against knowledge itself, is the single thought, in ones mind, that they already have it all figured out.
