We got a bigger microwave so we could do full packers.  Fat side down.  Yellow mustard. Liquid smoke.  Cook at high power until the smoke no longer smells good.

Regarding @Ozzie_Isaac's recipe-he forgot to add the can of real Coca-Cola to the cook.  And definitely go with fat cap up in the crock pot for the self-basting value.

They can't try and make a difference, obviously.  Doing so just projects weakness around the globe.  What a stupid lady!

    terrorist attacks since 1970

Notice the little blimp in the black dotted line at 2001. That little bump represents +/- 3000 American lives ended by Radical Muslim Extremists.

Nice chart if you're trying to trivialize the deaths of thousands of innocent people.  :|

What that chart and the others that Nola has posted shows is that too many people really suck at statistics and risk analysis.

I'm pretty sure everyone would agree that the untimely death of innocents is a tragedy regardless of the reason.

In the decade and a half-ish since the tragedy of 9/11 the total number of deaths that can be attributed to "terrorist attacks" (of all types including those by white extremists) on US soil have added up to something in the low three digits.

In that same period probably about 400,000 of our fellow citizens have been killed in motor vehicle crashes. About 200,000 have been killed due to gun violence.

Many folks in the US just shrug those numbers off as background noise,  the "acceptable losses" that are just part of everyday life in the US. They shrug their shoulders and say "Eh...what can ya do?"

But yeah...why bother trying to deal with problems that will actually impact most of us each year when you can instead live in fear of radical Muslim extremists, the Kenyan Muslim in the White House, Jade Helm taking over Texas, etc., etc., I'm pretty sure that most of the people that believe all that stuff are the same folks that also still believe that fluoridation of public water supplies is a communist plot!

Imagine the number of schools we could have funded with the money spent on the war on terror?

The number of people we could have helped lift out of poverty and the resulting reduction in violent crime.

That's crap. We are like cousins and share a largely common history. Ask any Canadian how much he/she favours the us on any day it would be like asking a little brother how much he likes his big sister. Not the same sphere of reference as asking somebody fro Burkina Faso or Poland. You can likely include any British Commonwealth nation in that as well.

I doubt that we would have raised the same amount of $$ for the above mentioned social programs.  Given that, then the national debt would not be as large and hopefully we would not have seen the tremendous increase in the size of the DOD and associated agencies...the modern-day federal jobs programs.  But just an opinion and we all know what those are worth and their value goes decidedly south on a Friday OT thread.
    Have a great weekend ;)

Understood.  I was just failing with a joke apparently. Maybe I should have included the winking emoji.  Gotta sharpen up on the emoji usage.....but then again I'm not 12.

The sentiment or belief that radical Islam isn't a threat to anyone's life here in the States may be statistically founded. There is a far greater threat in other countries. Is it possible that by only concentrating on our worries and stats we ignore others that are different from us and in different countries. Xenophobia? American nationalism? White privilege?

    http://www.cnn.com/2015/01/15/opinion/obeidallah-al-qaeda-hypocrisy/

On the other hand we have the number one killer of Muslims...... Muslims. Again, I guess if we're safe it doesn't matter. I mean, if the left is correct and there are only a handful of terrorist we'll probably be OK..... But I'll be damned if that handful of radical Muslims aren't busy as hell.
