Mini Max double grid help...
Ok I need some help. I bought another grid for the MM to be able to cook more wings. The new grid is a little smaller, ten inches. I thought this would be easy, just buy some stainless hardware and bolt it to the factory grid. Of course it is never easy as I think it will be. The 3/8'' bolt in picture (I have 4) is what I bought. There is no way to bolt the two together with the hardware I bought. So I found some pieces of stainless tubing that I have for raising the grid on my other eggs which is also in the pic. Of course they are too tall and will not work. How do you guys do this? I was looking around the house to find something to just raise it a couple inches and couldn't come up with anything........ Oh yeah, I am a procrastinator and really need to get it going for tomorrow night so no time to order anything.....

Go to the ceramicgrillstore online and buy a woo ring. It is AWESOME. I wish they would make an adjustable rig for the MiniMax! Anyway, check their stuff out, they have lots of neat additions to the BGE lineup.
** NO I AM NOT A PAID REP FOR THEM...I just like their stuff, I have some of their stuff for both my MiniMax and my XL...

Too much work, use the bigger egg imo. I have the mm and woo, trying 2 grids is not on the radar for me.Seattle, WA

I have the woo, and bought a second 13" grid. It's a tight fit, but it does fit. It still rubs the upper felt, but once I cut that off for the Rutland it'll be perfect. Since doing this I can now get two packs of Tyson wingettes on it.Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

Thanks for the input everyone. @SkinnyV I would love to use my bigger eggs but taking the MM to deer camp tomorrow night. @Jeremiah I am assuming you have nuts right underneath the top grid to hold it up? The bolts I bought are not fully threaded......looks like another run to the hardware store tomorrow.

Yeah they're full thread with nuts and washers under the top. That makes 3 bolts, 9 nuts, 9 washers. I don't remember the original bolt length, but once I added to woo they had to be shortened to fit. Hope that helps.Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

Your bolts should work but from picture I think you need fender washers, not regular washers. The bigger diameter washers will help span the grid. I am wor king the same thing out on my max but I want mine to swivel to the side when I need it to.
