I was thinking about getting one and use it in conjunction with my egg as well as my sous vide machine. How well does it really sear? It looks beautiful but also cost some serious dough.

I hate you! I've been eye effing that thing for awhile. Bad ass! It's essentially a hand held salamander. If you don't know what a salamander is Google it. And it's not an amphibianLBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

I have one and it sears quiet well .... however I still prefer a very hot cast iron pan for searing.LBGE & MiniOrlando, FL

@fljoemon I can imagine a rainy day sous vide on some Ribeyes and searzall crust. And agree a CI or caveman crust can't compare on the same field.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

I thought about that some time ago. But @nolaegghead showed me that a HF weedburner is a badass searzall, so that's what I've been using. I couldn't bring myself to drop that kind of coin on a one-trick pony.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

SV and a searsall and you could just sell the egg, the gasser, even give away all of your matches and lighters.

They are not that great I know 2 people that have them and sous vides and they were not very impressed. They got them from the kickstarter so maybe they improved. The first time I saw one I had just cooked ribs and they were lightly sauced and it took awhile for it to Carmalize sauced ribs even.

I love mine! It's a great tool. It's also great finishing off ABT's, pizza, etc...it also doubles as a torch to fire up my huevo. It's a bit pricey...but for $75 it's not the end of the world.
