Georgia peach pie with walnut streusel

Options
I planted a tiny Georgia peach tree last year not expecting any fruit for a few years, however it did produce a small crop this year so we made a pie:

Peeled & assembled & into the egg at 425

After 30 minutes took it out to add the walnut streusel

back into the egg for another 45 minutes then removed to cool:

it didn't last long

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

Very Impressive. Looks awesome! How much sun does a peach tree need?

thanks, I don't know much of anything about peaches but found this tree at home depot last summer & it sounded like a good idea.  When I ate the first one off this tree last week it blew me away, far and away better than any store bought peach I've ever had.  The Belle of Georgia tree rules.

Thanks, not really sure about the sun question but where I have it it gets a good 10+ hours of direct sun per day & it is absolutely kicking ass.  It was a stick of about 5 feet tall when I planted it last summer (probably around June) and it's now about 8 feet tall & very bushy.  By contrast I planted two similarly sized apple trees the same day & they're not noticeably bigger than the day I planted them & neither have any fruit as of yet.

Whoa! That's looks incredible! Great post, thanks for sharing it with us!

Wouldn't Pecan Streusel be the way to go for a Georgia Peach Pie???

    Cheers -

indeed, conventional wisdom would suggest pecan, however this was a sort of spur of the moment decision & the only nuts I had available were walnuts & peanuts, & no one wants to see let alone eat peanut streusel :o

On behalf of Georgia, I approve of this pie.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

That looks fantastic!  Very nice!  It looks like the pie is sitting on a foil covered plate setter - cooked indirect?
