And as a FYI, real Southerners are from South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi. The rest are just wannabes.

I lived in NC for six years. I stand by my earlier statement.

Apparently there is a little too much erudition in NC.

    What's scrapple

Scrapple is all of the pork head (and other parts) meat boiled off of the bone, ground and mixed with cornmeal or other binder and spices, let solidify, then sliced and fried.  Aren't you glad you asked???

You had me at "and other parts", then again at "let solidify".

I consider NC to be a Mid Atlantic state. NC is a little highbrow to be considered the real South.

Dude-  you are from Atlanta.  Hardly what I'd call the typical Deep South.
I live in metro Atlanta. I am from rural Georgia  and both sides of my family grew up in rural Alabama.

Real Texans don't consider themselves southerners either!

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

I'm from the north and proud of it. I lived in Georgia for 5 months. I don't do biting ants, red dirt that sticks to everything and people asking what church i go to before my name.

Why Louisiana?  They had plenty of slave owners and one of the major slave ports.

Don't get me wrong @Wolfpack , I love North Carolina. It's a great state and I made some great lifelong friends there. I'd move back there in a minute but it's not the Deep South to me.

@wolfpack I didn't know you grew up in Macon.    How long ago were you paroled from here?   I keep hoping the warden will let me out soon!   We do have excellent sweet tea here though!

Where do "true southerners" stand on Arnold Palmers?  Is that an acceptable tea drink or do you consider it fruit infused junk.  And if acceptable, is it made with sweet or unsweet tea?

Just the fact that you referenced unsweet tea makes me chuckle. It's sweet tea and lemonade only. No peach tea, mango or blackberry "Yankee filth". Also, Arnold Palmer is a fine gentleman which makes his drink is acceptable.

So it sounds like scrapple is made the same as hot dogs, Bologna, spam and so on. Everything left over on a hog from the snooter to the tooter as I once heard it called.
