I bought the BGE xl a week ago and love it. I mostly cook for my wife and I and am thinking about getting another egg. For cooks only for my wife and I. What do you recommend I get? The reason I got the XL is for when I have big BBQ's and smoke some briskets. Thanks in advanced!

Medium all the way. Its the most disrespected size, but in my view the best for 2-4 people.A bison’s level of aggressiveness, both physical and passive, is legendary. - NPS

I have an xl, l and mini. When it's just for 2, the mini rocks. For the family, the L is perfect. For a party, the xl is the choice. Have fun.
-
Sounds good, it's a tough choice and I hope my local dealers have them on display to make the custom choice.

I have XL and Mini Max ... seems like a great combo of Eggs! They both get same amounts of cooking time too. Wouldn't do it any differently if I were to do it over again ... either. My PitMaster IQ120 FREAKIN ROCKS!!!!!!! Current BGE arsenal: XL & MiniMax

Mini Max if you plan on taking it with you anywhere, medium if you plan on leaving it at the home base. Just my two cents.

Agree @RickyBobby we also enjoy our MM as our 2nd egg. It gets just as much use as the LBGE does. The last meal I did with grouper was for 4 people and Apps and the MM did that without any issue.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

I originally wanted a small for second Egg, a medium came my way and I really enjoy it. I'm able to deep fry and cook steaks/burger/etc at the same time and doesn't use mush lump at all.------------------------------

I am thinking about the mini max and medium. I wanted the large at first but I would think the xl is almost the same as the Large. I got a 18 inch weber grill and even though it's not a egg it's my first grill that I won't get rid of.

For the price of a MM buy a medium for $50 more. You won't regret it2XLBGE, Large BGE, Medium BGE, Mini, 36" Blackstone

I would recommend a grill of another type to add to your stable. If you want two eggs that's a good choice also, however a different type grill will give to another choice in cooking.
I love my two large green eggs, but I enjoy the versatility of my Portable Kitchen (PK) grill. It has the built ability to do indirect cooking by simply placing the coals to one side. It is also great at searing a steak because the grate is only two inches from the coals.

Aaron Franklin seems to like The PK

I have a couple of other grills also and enjoy them all. They all have their comparative advantages and disadvantages.
I do love my eggs, however I'm increasingly finding myself relying on the PK for its searing ability and indirect. -

If portability is out, the skip one size seems to be the norm. SBGE+LBGE or MBGE+XLBGE. So you are set to be a MBGE owner.....Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

Im going to check them out tomorrow. Leaning towards the medium or mini max.

I like the medium. It is good for 2-4 people. I like it a lot, but it is definitely not portable.

What's the price differences between the two? Rough estimate.

Apparently, Jamie is a brute as well. The pix of him egging in a suit are deceiving.

I have the mini, small, and medium as the smaller cookers out on the porch. I use the medium all the time, its a better egg than the other two. The mini sits in the shed, thinking of giving it to my daughter so she can play house with it. The small isn't used any more either since the medium showed up. But if you watch my comments over the years, I used to love the mini and small. Its all about which ones you have, people have different opinions.

I have the XL, and my second was the MM. I love the MM, I am very pleased with the purchase. I have done cooks on it for up to four people, however, I bought for times when it is justy wife and I. We use it for camping tailgating or when we make appetizers and sides for the food on the XL.
It was and is the perfect addition at our home. I take it everywhere."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber
