The Wheels Came Off!

No ****, literally, one wheel came completely off, like a mother lifting a car of her kid, some how through divine intervention and a fathers love of his BGE, I was able and catch my XL before it hit the ground. Upon inspection a second wheel was almost al of the way off as well. Found the nut to the wheel and was able to put it back together and tightened the rest. Im almost crying typing about it, what a close call! CHECK THOSE NEST!!

Close call and a good save. Glad it wasn't a disaster.

I guess the lesson learned here is to always reach down and check the condition of your nuts before something bad happens!XL BGE; Medium BGE; L BGE

Try putting a couple of drops of "Loctite" on the threads."You can live in any city in America, but New Orleans is the only city that lives in you."Chris Rose

Good save. I have added extra screws and beefed my table up a bit.

I still am scared to walk out to my garage for fear of finding it broken lol.I am very lucky I was cooking at 250F and not a clean burn like I had planed but skipped due to lack of time.I will absolutely be investing in locktite!

Just a friendly reminder to check those wheels on your nest. I almost lost my Large last night when the two front wheels almost fell off. Luckily, crisis diverted!Los Angeles, CA

damn, never saw this thread before, must check when I get home. I don't move my egg much, hopefully mine are still tight.

I fought in 2 conflicts and nothing gave me ptsd like almost losing my egg lol, every time I move it my anxiety goes through the roof, (hearts pounding just thinking about it) and I tighten the wheels again lol, glad you were able to make the save! -
Loctite is a great idea. I think double-nutting would help too.canuckland

If you don't have locktite, you can always use fingernail polish. No joke.
I once worked with a female service tech that had recurring problems with a big "band" printer where a screw kept working loose every other month or so even after using gobs of locktite. One day she went back to fix this same problem again only to discover she was out of locktite but she recalled she had some fingernail polish in her purse. So she got it out and applied it to the wayward screw. She never had another problem with it
