Started as, "I should put some steps in this hill". We never knew what to do between the house and garage to get rid of the sand that gets tracked in. sidewalks are costly, concrete or not. Started this and by the time I was done (and 40 000 lbs + of sand, gravel, rundle, dirt, and pavers later) we ended up with this. Took the Saturday off yard work for some time on the river. Didn't have much time to Egg in the evenings after work.

I love the look of the steps. Great job!

Thanks @Eggcelsior! Was a lot of work, they look like wood/timber, but its actually stone. Thought it would fit nicely with everything else.County of Parkland, Alberta, Canada

Looks great!!! That firewood get difficult to get to when you need it? Doesn't it get all covered by snow?--------------------------------------------------

It's beautiful. Now I wonder what your BBQ area looks likeLos Angeles, CA

@Sea2Ski
Thanks. The Rundle rock i put in between the walkway and the house (and in the rock garden) packs down like cement. I clear the snow in the winter up top there so no, it is easily accessible. I store enough wood up on the front porch that we use, and just keep re loading it up there. Snow is not a problem.County of Parkland, Alberta, Canada -

I am worn out just thinking of all the work you put into that. I did a similar project (no where near as nice) but with a lot of heavy hardscape about 8 years ago. Want do it again as I am past that age. You should be proud of that. Now enjoy it.Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax

Thanks everyone. Yes it was a pile of work. 70' to go to the back yard where it is not finished and then a pad for the fire pit left. But that's not going to be done this year. It will also be a lot simpler. Was a good project. I learnt a lot as I went.County of Parkland, Alberta, Canada

@northGAcock not much. She is almost blind. Fenced of the dirt section yesterday to keep her out for a bit. She still keeps the deer away from the garden though. However a coyote was walking up the drive today and she didn't notice it. Sad, only 4 years old.

Wow! Very nice! I really like what you did with the place.
If I had that much firewood up against my foundation my termite guy would kill me, but I guess that's not a problem for you in the nose-bleed part of the continent.

@AlbertaEgger I'm from your neck of the woods (a few years back) You've got some beautiful country and great fishing just to the west of you - do I remember correctly?
