corn on the cob

Has anybody ever grilled corn on the BGE? Just wanting to know how to do it and how long to grill and when do you know its done? Thanks

@Mickey has a good recipe.

If he doesn't answer there are several ways to do it. I pull the husk open on one side and add butter, salt, pepper. Then pull the husk back up and cook at 300 (for about 60 min) to 350 (for about 45 min).

However you can also shuck them and put a bunch in foil with butter etc.

I haven't found a way I think is clearly superior...

I usually leave them in the husk and soak in salted water for at least an hour. Cook them low and slow till tender. Sometimes at the end I'll shuck them and add some spices and get a little char.

I pull the husks off and all the silk. No soak, no nothing. Put on grill till some char and ten pull and butter and eat.

I do it the way they do it back home .. remove the husk .. grill direct at 375-400 .. constantly rotating it so that it does not burn and then slice a lemon or lime and dab it in a mix of cayenne pepper & salt and apply the lemon/lime to the corn.

this is one cook i do on the gasser, just cant get the quantity we eat on the egg. i never even knew folks ate corn as a side til college, we just eat corn for a meal

throw 3 dozen ears on a gasser, husks silk and all, no soaking, no peeling. rotate and restack evry 10 or so minutes until the husks are brown and you start to just smell them. stack in a corrugated box and serve, folks can husk their own corn. the silk falls off cooked corn, if you try and remove it before cooking you never get it all off

Same application I do. Did 3 cobs last night with pork chops (Mickey's coffee rub), and sweet potatoes in the coals

I chop off the silk end and put them in the grill - gassrr or egg and flip 'em around every so often until they're starting to char and they smell good. I don't soak or remove the inside silk until ready to eat.

I shuck them completely, spray lightly with olive oil, and grill directly at whatever height the grid was at for the protein I am making.

Salt and pepper, and I wrap a strip of bacon around it, then wrap in foil. Hour or so at 300.

Lately I've been drizzling them with olive oil and just salt and pepper for seasoning. Grilling them until I get the char I'm looking for on all sides. I know they're done enough when it starts smelling like cooked corn on the cob. It gets that sweet corn smell as it finishes.

Little different that how I did mine not long ago. I used plain greek yogurt, smoked paprika and chili powder. I couldn't find Cotina cheese either, so I used parm and romanao mix. It was some of the best corn I have eaten.

I placed the corn back on the grill after the sauce,cheese, and seasoning mixture to really set the flavor in.

For those that haven't tried it, Dizzy Pig Pineapple Head is the bomb on sweet corn! I husk and silk each ear and wrap in foil with butter and Pineapple Head. Put on direct for no more than ten minutes.
