Want to try some SRF. What to order

I'd like to put in my first order to SRF. Free shipping, so I want to get a couple (few) items. Definitely want to try the Kobe patties, but unsure of what other offerings to try. What are the "to die for" cuts I should consider? Thanks, all.

Waygu brisket

I wasn't impressed with the waygu patties. The brisket is the best bang for the buck. I'd start with that...unless you have never cooked a brisket before and then I would recommend a practice run or two. They run sales all the time it seems so I recommend setting up an account and wait for a sale.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

I was just to to say that I've never done brisket before, and should I do a practice run or two.Kennebunk, Maine

I would. Have you done any butts yet? You need to get a decent feel for low n slow and then give a basic brisket a try. Big cut of meat so you spend some $$$. Also, need a few extra mouths to help eat too.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

Done a few butts, 4 Runner, so I've got some lo & slo experience. But up this way, I never see brisket in the shops I frequent.Kennebunk, Maine

@Northarrow - go for it then. Hit up Aaron Franklin on YouTube as well searching here. Keep it simple and I'm sure it will be great.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

Agree with the brisket (Black grade for me). But if your first brisket cook, then try and find some local source for prime packers and give it some practice. All good eats await. And I will +1 on signing in and getting their promo e-mails.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Do y'all that have smoked numerous SRF briskets change up your method any as opposed to a choice grade packer?
Gittin' there... -
@FearlessTheEggNoob- the only thing I change up is to start looking for the finish-line indicator once I clear around 180*F in the flat. The majority have finished in the mid 190's to just short of 200*F but did have one hit the promised land around 188*F. FWIW- I'm sure those who have more SRF brisket eggsperience will be along. Best beef eats ever. Just an opinion...

I have done at least 4 SRF briskets with 1 being gold grade. All were done by 185. I've ordered the ribeye filets. They were on sale and relatively inexpensive. Best steak I've ever cooked or ate, period. I would also consider the flatiron. For the money they look like a good buy.
