What do you guys use for virus protection on a PC?

Just got a new notebook computer and I'm not a tech genius but know a bit. What do you guys use for virus/hacking protection?
I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.
Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

avast. Theres a paid and a free version, but the free has worked great for 4 yrs. now.middle of nowhere- G.I. NE

I use Kaspersky. It's a little pricey compared to some but it works well for me.Henderson TN. 1 large BGE, 1 Webber Gasser (recently seems to have converted into a warming oven)

+1on the Mac book pro. But a pc had it for like two or three months got fed up with it sold it. Went to the Mac no more troubles again. My buddy bought my pc it last one year.
