OT Travel Recommendations

I'm currently planning our honeymoon to Tokyo / Vietnam / Cambodia. If anyone has any recommendations it would be appreciated. We are only in Tokyo for 6 hours on a layover so we are going to just explore the city. Current plans are Ho Chi Minh City , Hanoi, Da Nang Bay and Angkor Wat Cambodia if anyone has suggestion on hotels boats bars food in these areas from personal experience it would be greatly appreciated.

Don't leave without trying some Bò Tái Chanh. It's delicious. Avoid punji stick pits.

I thought it would sound like a bbq!

One of the largest Vietnamese communities in the US is in the NOLA area. I haven't been to Vietnam but lots of the food and culture is here.

If it barks and wags like a dog it must be a dog. FYI it is a fairly common street food in several countries. We will see if I get the courage to try it this time around

My guess is that you'll be connecting through the international airport in Tokyo, which is about an hour (by metro) outside of the city. So that's really not going to afford you a whole lot of time to see much of anything.

If you think you have time, try to get to the Meiji shrine. The Tokyo tower is another easy option, but we weren't that impressed by it.

You're going to laugh but I think a lot depends on whether or not you'll have your phone (with GPS or Google maps) working.

Otherwise, the metro system is a real challenge to navigate. It was hard for us even with Google maps, and we're seasoned travelers.

I'm really not sure how far it is. My guess is about an hour, give or take 15 min. I would check when you get in to the airport and see what Google tells you.

@JohnInCarolina got it we will play in by ear then ... I completely understand the weather thing .... I didn't get it until it happened to me more then once. We are seasoned travelers as well so we should be able to make the best of our time
