Hello all, I am new to the Forum and I am going to buy my egg this week. My Dad and I built my table and I ordered my accessories( I chose the R & B combo From ceramic grill store) in preparation. I based my build on Naked whiz design but made some adjustments for material availability and cost. We actually used Cedar 4 X 4 and Cedar fence boards for the trim and Table Tops. I haven't decided yet on a style of mobility, Cart style wheels or Casters, but those will be added eventually.

Look awesome. Before you load the egg in, might suggest the table nest. A few guys have shown some recent fires. I went a bought one but haven't loaded the egg onto it yet.Memphis, TN ----> Chattanooga, TN

Thanks. We went with a 5/8" thick slate for the base. Do you think the table nest is still necessary?

@spgrimes nice job on the table. I am also a +1 when it comes to a table nest. The slate will work keeping your egg off of the wood, but you don't want to put the bottom of the egg directly onto the slate.
You need airflow underneath the egg. I just got a new table, and I put my eggs in a nest and then a piece of 3/16" steel plate underneath.
Some guys have reported that with the table nest only that the wood underneath would darken over time from the heat.
I am very fire conscious as I am sure we all are. Here is what I have.

Nice job on your table. 1+ on the nest table. Slate is better than nothing, but it will still conduct heat.
Any road will take you there if you don't know where you're going.

Great build. I know I enjoyed building mine ALMOST as much as I enjoy cooking on my egg. Another vote here for the table nest. Well worth the extra $30. Enjoy!!
