i've only had my egg since sept. of last year, and i was wondering why we dont have an eggfest here in our home state. seems like it would be a lot of fun, and could possibly help out some local dealers in our state.

  • lockjaw,
You didnt realize it but you have just taken the 1st step in organizing an Eggfest!
Eggfests outside the headquarters location of Atlanta are not organized by BGE, but people like YOU who have a desire to have one.
I suggest you contact your local dealers and see what they can do, and they can always contact many members on this forum who have experience in this field.
Good luck and I hope you can have one soon!

  • lockjaw,
What city do you live in? Mobile here.

  • lockjaw,
Sounds good to me, would probably need to be in a central location to facilitate attendence, like B'ham. We're in Daphne but would attend anywhere in the state.

    Poppasam,
I'm about 20 miles west of the casinos. If you lose all your money at the Palace, you are welcome to come over for some egged food. Maybe you could teach me a thing or two.

lockjaw,You nearly from Tenn. JUST JOKING!! An EGGFEST would be a good reason to go to L.A. Grew up about the same parallel just across the state line in Ga. Spent a lot of time in Northeast Al.

bobbyb,My wife is the family member that loves the slots. I go to drive and eat. Was sad to see the little bar that has the oysters across from the Palace gone. I spent most of my Biloxi afternoons there. Just got in from a fundraiser in Atlanta and about six dozen would go well right now.[p]Good Eggin' to You,

    Poppasam,
Yes, not too much left around here, but it's coming back slowly. I love oysters too, in any form.

  • Poppasam,
i dont care where it would be. i could handle mobile and according to one response, someone down there is already having one. i think i may check into that and try to attend this year, or may just go to the eggtoberfest in atlanta in october instead. another thought would be a north alabama/southern tn combo. something like that could produce a pretty good turnout a few years down the road. i think we've got 6-7 dealers within 35 min of our home up here. that's just cullman, decatur and huntsville/madison.

  • lockjaw,[p]I know that Tony at the Grilling Room in Florence has toyed with the idea in the past of doing one up in the NW part of the state - maybe if some folks bug... er, mention the idea to him (and maybe even offer to shoulder part of the labor load...) it might happen sooner or later...[p]- Andy
