How many whiskey and cokes....

Is acceptable per day? I think I've developed a new fetish for bourbon and cokes. I get home after a stressful day and I poor myself about two drinks before bed. Helps me relax and sleep. I would guess that amounts to be about 4 shots per day. Been doing it now for a couple weeks, every day. Am I turning into a fricken lush??

I can't help here I like them way too much. We went on a cruise for Thanksgiving, the cruise line we went on encouraged BYO so I brought some Jack. They also offered free Cokes. My YETTI rambler got a 7day workout!

I didn't start worrying until I realized that it had been every night since 2009. I lost the coke completely around 2010.

Everyone's tolerance is different . I like exercising and running to drink that every night but a couple doubles straight with 3 cubes is not far off for me when I do drink.
When I drink a few nights in a row I like to go a few without just to tell myself I can.

Yes..you definitely have a serious problem.....
Two per day is totally unacceptable....3 or more....amatures imbibe at 2....3 and your on your way to professional status.
Also a good bourbon is.required..Makers Mark aka Mothers Milk will allow one to partake in copious amounts without threat of saturation. A mix of 33% to 66% is an acceptable ratio..the 1% is melted ice. Consistency is paramount.

I don't know if your question was serious or not, but nobody has offered a serious answer so I will. The mere fact that the question has occurred to you may be a sign of trouble. Skip the alcohol for a week and don't load up on caffeine as a substitute. Then you will have your answer.

I think I could do without, but am enjoying it right now. For example, last night I had the urge to have three doubles, but had two instead. Have never been a hard liquor fan, until two weeks ago. I don't think it's too excessive.

I don't know about per day, but on a light night I do one Coke Zero. That generally gets me three drinks in a rocks glass with plenty of ice. ON a heavier night, I don't know. I lose track.

Agreed. Bourbon and Ginger with a lime wedge is better. And avoid the artificial sweeteners and the high fructose corn syrup sweeteners. Really gives an off taste to a cocktail.

But to your original question; if you think you have a problem, then you may. If you are reaching out for help here, you may be asking the wrong people. Talk to your doctor for a better answer. Everything in moderation.
