Guess I need to clean it up. Had to unload truck this morning while Urban MaMa sleeps. Don't think I told her that I hit an auction yesterday. So don't tell her please :-@

How did you hang everything up like that???
1 large BGE, 2 small BGE, 3 Plate setters, 1 large cast iron grid, 1 pizza stone, 1 Stoker II Wifi, 1 BBQ Guru Digi-Q II, 1 Amaze N pellet smoker and 1 empty wallet. Seaforth, On. Ca.

Time to season

Did those clean up like that just from the torching?? I've never restored any CI and don't know what's involved.Lethbridge, Alberta LBGE & MM

Torching burnt the paint. Had to do that twice. Then a wire wheel. Faster to sandblast. But I didn't want to use a favor on this small stuff. Still have the one I picked up yesterday to finish. Might get to it in a few years

That's what I figured but wasn't sure.Lethbridge, Alberta LBGE & MM

Thanks. Time to cool and enjoy a stick . Then throw on some salmon

Very nice job indeed!
I've got about all the CI I need (or have room for) but I have 2 sons and I'm sure they don't have enough yet! ...I'll have to pay better attention at garage sales and flee markets.

Thanks uncle. I have so much crap and I just keep going to auctions garage sales and dumpster diving. Thought the egg would controll that. Just enough butt to chomp on. And I know smoked cheddar doesn't go with salmon. I just had to give it a try<img

I didn't know sandblasting was the best way to strip CI. I have the set up to do that already, so I'll be on the lookout for some garage sale CI to get to work on.Thanks for the tipPhoenix

For paint it works well. Just don't over do it
-
Most of the used pieces I see need to be stripped because of rust. I assume sandblasting would be for that as well? Maybe I'll use soda, or glass bead first, so as not to overdo it as you suggest. I'll work my way up to sand if needed.Phoenix

That would work. Make sure u have oil on hand . It could start to rust fast -

I see we have a ci connoisseur on hand. I have had that one for years. So much paint I couldn't see the markings. Can't remember where I picked that one up at. The wife had it sitting on fatso for a few years.
