Just saw this, how was it??

Great, we love sockeye, we only get to fish for them every four years, so I stock up when the fishery is on.Large, small, and a mini

HeII yes!

Now what did you do to them? Can't tell by the picture. Is that a cold smoked?

Sockeye is the best. It always makes me laugh when stores place the wild sockeye next to the farmed salmon and the placard for the farmed salmon reads color added. A two year old could pick the best fish. They can't even make the farmed fish look close to a sockeye by adding color. @smokesniffer, you must live in an area that has limited fish runs. Sockeye must be a special treat if you only get it every four years. My daughter lives in a fishing village that depends on subsistence living. The main run is chum salmon, but sometimes they're limited because of the declining King numbers.Steven

@stemc33 yea every four years kind of sucks, cause you get every Tom, ****, and Harry out on the river. And a lot of them don't know what they are doing, or having fishing knowledge. Makes it trying some trips. Our limit is two per day. A lot of the guys that know the river, catch their two and then make room for some one else to limit out. We love the taste of sockeye, it is the best salmon in our opinion.@SGH sorry buddy, no pics, the company came, and as soon as it came off the egg it was plated and ate. Had lots of lip smacking going out. So sorry, we try to do better next time.Large, small, and a mini

I had to have some farmed salmon the other night as a guest somewhere.
When I saw the color my stomach sank.....i made it through though mixing it with my salad dressing etc.
I buy wild only or don't eat it...Seattle, WA -
@SkinnyV I hear ya loud and clear! Or what I find funny is Chinnock salmon costs more than sockeye. I would way rather have the sockeye anyway. To me it tastes way better. But then again, I don't buy to much. Prefer to catch it.Large, small, and a mini

You live in the perfect place to learn how to fish. Your not too far from good chinook and silver runs. Not to mention steelhead country. Take a few guided trips and you'll be well on your way.Steven
